Tesco Bags of Help

Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative in hundreds of regions across England and Wales. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.
Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s 416 regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags. The public will now vote in store from 31st Ocober to 13th November on who should receive the £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awards. In total, there is over £12.5 million up for grabs.
Lavendon Parish Council are delighted to have been succesful in securing a chance of funding from Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative. We are planning to add outdoor gym equipment to the playing field facilities.
Our village project along with the other two successful projects in the region will go forward to a public vote in Tesco stores with their customers deciding the outcome.
Bags of Help will see money raised by customers through the 5p bag charge go directly back into the local community. We’re really looking forward to seeing how Tesco customers will vote and watching the projects come to life.
Please vote for us for the benefit of the village....Thank you.
