Works on Olney Road
Posted on 22nd June 2023 at 12:28
We have received this communivation from National Grid
We are planning an upgrade to the cable network in Olney Road Lavendon between no 34 and the White Cannons Drive T junction. The work is to add an additional high voltage cable into the substation on Olney Road to enable us to supply the substation and customers at that end of the village via a second supply cable. This is to improve system security in the event of faults or when switching out parts of the network in future for maintenance work.
Digging and cable laying are scheduled to start on 4/7/23 between the substation and the Olney road junction with White Cannons Drive. There will be traffic lights set up at this road junction and work is scheduled to take approximately a week with traffic control.
An excavation will remain open with barriers off on the corner of White Cannons Drive during the following week for tests and connection works. All works should be complete by 14/7/23.
We also have a planned outage affecting some customers in the village which I will be notifying residents about. This outage is planned for 4/7/23 between 9.30am and 11.30am to carry out maintenance work at the substation.
For a period of about one and a half weeks from July 4th we will also need to connect and run generators at the Olney road substation, a pole mounted transformer in the field opposite the Harrold Road junction on the high street and a pole mounted transformer situated behind Rectory Farm at the end of New Row.
We will aim to keep disruption to a minimum.
